On Saturday, May 14, at 2:00pm, the ASL Club at UCR and ACM at UCR will host “Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Deafhood.”

Spencer Montan and Rob Koch, a Deaf entrepreneur and a Deaf technologist, will share their experiences with tech startups, Amazon Web Services (AWS), machine learning (ML), accessibility in tech, Deaf culture, and more, then answer audience Q&A.

The event is hybrid with campus (mainly for those affiliated with UCR) and Zoom (open to all) options.

About the presenters:
Rob Koch is an AWS Data Hero, working as a Principal – Data Engineering, at Slalom Build, and the founder of Deaf in the Cloud, which provides a community for Deaf, HoH, and signing technologists.


Spencer Montan is an associate director at RIT/NTID’s Center on Access Technology and an entrepreneur who founded tech startups, Wavio and Wivi, that promote accessibility for Deaf and HoH people.
